Project Overview
Ajja came into being when a failing live-work space was repurposed into a Mediterranean restaurant by project owners Cheetie Kumar and Paul Siler. Plan North Partners was hired to manage the comprehensive rehab of the building, including demolition, design, and construction. The redesign, including a permanent omission of two exterior walls, enabled amazing views from the patio that were previously obstructed. Construction occurred throughout the entirety of 2021 as the project faced exceptionally long lead times for kitchen equipment and electrical components due to pandemic induced shortages. However, PNP worked closely with the construction team throughout the process to place orders early and coordinate down-schedule activities with the availability of goods.
